The Ruler of the Books – Book Tag

Good Morning book dragons! I was tagged by James @ This Is My Truth Now to do this tag, which was really fun to do. Please stop by James’ site and check him out. He writes very intellectual and interesting reviews; you won’t be disappointed. 🙂

#1: What book would you make everyone read?

Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. It’s one of the finest pieces of literature ever composed.

#2: What would you abolish in book construction?

For book construction specifically, I would abolish the use of paper that is papyrus-thin and rip SUPER easily. I hate that kind of paper and it has no place on a normal, non-super fancy, non-super rare edition of books.

#3: What author would you commission to write you any book?

Haruki Murakami or Natsume Sōseki. I love them both equally. They are such brilliant authors.

#4: What book would you demote to the library basement to make room for new books?

UNPOPULAR (AND POSSIBLY CONTROVERSIAL) OPINION ALERT: Everything written by Jay Kristoff. I cannot stand his terrible, culturally appropriated and disrespectful books. He butchers ever fucking culture he utilises for the stories he tells. They’d have no (visually accessible) place in my book kingdom.

#5: What cover artist would you commission to make a mural?

Yoshitaka Amano. No one else can possibly compare.

#6: What character’s face would you put on a coin?

Takumi Fujiwara, the Tofu Drift King.

#7: What book would you award the “Ruler of the Books” 2016 prize to?

Monstress Volume 1 by Marjorie Liu & Sana Takeda. This is some of the best dark fantasy, steampunk comics I’ve ever read. A very close second would have to be Saga Volume 6 by Brian K. Vaughan & Fiona Staples.
