30-Day Anime Challenge – Day 14: An Anime That Never, Ever Gets Old

Day 14: Anime That Never Gets Old No Matter How Many Times You’ve Re-watched it

Ah, I honestly have lost track of how many times I have seen this series from beginning to end! It’s my ultimate feel-good anime series and one that I suspect I shall never get tired of watching.

GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka

It’s hilarious as hell, very inspiring, delightfully inappropriate, the lessons that Onizuka imparts are genuine and things I wished teachers would talk about when helping kids out, and the most shocking (for me) part that makes GTO awesome are the dubbed voices. They definitely aren’t the best out there as they are dated as fuck, but they are decent and the guy who voices Eikichi Onizuka (Steven Blum) does a stellar job at capturing his persona. It’s one of the very, very few shows that I watched dubbed whenever I pick it up.

Thank you so much for stopping by this afternoon. Wishing you a wonderful rest of the day and evening. Until next time, happy reading and happy otakuing! 🌸

  1. I love this anime. It used to air in animax, so I’d always stay up late just to watch it,
my friend loved it so much that he saw the anime/live action/and also read the manga hahahaha
what’s your fave arc?? mine is Kanzaki’s 🙂

    • So is mine! Kanzaki is one of my favourite anime ladies. She’s totally Onizuka’s match in terms of doing crazy stuff lol. I also liked the Okinawa arc.
