Day 06: A book that makes you sad.
Ah, another difficult one to answer. I feel like I have read a lot of sad books within the past couple of years, but I decided to go ahead and choose one from this year. It is the #OwnVoices Malaysian historical fiction novel, The Garden of Evening Mists by Tan Twan Eng. It is by far one of the most eloquent and evocative books that I have ever read, and quite heart-breaking too.
I have never heard of this novel, but wow that cover looks incredible! Really beautiful 😊😊

If they ever do one about a novel that made you depressed, try anything by Thomas Hardy or anything by William Golding.

Oh yeah, for sure with William Golding. I’ll have to look up Thomas Hardy, I don’t think I’ve heard of him before.

19th century author. Life sucks, people suck, then you die. Usually badly.
