Bula and happy Saturday, chums! I cannot believe that I’m making this announcement because I honestly never expected to reach this fantabulous milestone!!! I’m such a vulgarly awkward potato whose prattles could give the Nile a run for their money. Yet, here we are: 1,000+ followers!!! Please, excuse the fanhumaning that shall be taking place here because I am so beyond fucking floored to have achieved this!!
When I started this blog, which was under a completely different name back then, I did it on a whim as an escape from dark times and to cope with Depression. Yet, over the course of the last three to four years, it slowly mutated into a wondrous ambition I never saw coming; one that has granted me so many wonderful opportunities on both the professional and personal levels. Honestly speaking, I don’t think I’ve ever been this dedicated to and fiercely passionate about something since racing cars, and it feels so extraordinary.
Thanks to blogging I learned to be less afraid of taking chances and having conversations about things that are important to me. I learned that it’s okay for me to be myself unapologetically in all of its eccentrically Queer and brown awesomeness. It taught me that friends can be made anywhere; brilliantly kind people to rely on outside of the community. It also gave me the strength I needed to finally pursue my dreams of becoming a published author of diverse (and darkly twisted) narratives. I never would have been able to experience any of these things, and more, if it weren’t for the community.
This community embraced me and accepted me when no one else did and y’all helped me along the way when I stumbled my through so many identity changes and crises. Y’all forgave me for being sporadic with posting shit and were so genuine in your understanding of life just being a bitch sometimes. Plus, you took the time to engage with the content I put out there and even pushed me in the direction of other fantastic people and additions to my niche. The sense of camaraderie that I get from the blogging community is one I haven’t experienced since I was sixteen years old. So, today I would like to say thank you so very much!
Thanks, chums, for your constant and continued support. Through various blog styles and scheduling changes, the evolution of the content created and presented, the ups and downs and in-betweens, and for always willing to listen, constructively critique, and cheer me on through this splendid shindig of writing and living.
Today, I am announcing a video Q & A exclusively for the blog and a giveaway to celebrate this awesome accomplishment! I don’t have a lot to give, but I wanted to do something special to commemorate this and to show I’m grateful to y’all. Check out all of the details down below.
- Winner(s) shall get $50 to Amazon, Book Depository, or RightStuf (their choosing, can only choose one). Amazon & Right Stuf is USA only. Book Depository will be open Internationally as long as they ship to you!
- There will be 3 total winners, chosen at random.
- To enter, leave me a question in the comments to answer in the Q & A video and lemme know you’re joining. Nothing is off limits, but I do reserve the right to not answer something if I feel it’s inappropriate. I’m a pretty open book though.
- Must be willing to share your e-mail address with me to discuss shipments, tracking, etc.
- If you’re chosen as the winner, but for any reason decide you don’t want to partake, just let me know when I contact you and I’ll choose the next person.
- Giveaway closes on Tuesday, July 31st.
There’s all the giveaway information. A very special shout-out to Sir Besty as without her help, I probably would not be able to do this thang. If you have any questions or thoughts, please feel free to drop me a comment here or you can contact me privately via Inquiries and Twitter DMs (preferred). Also, if you don’t want to join the giveaway but have a question that you’d like me to answer for the Q & A video (blog exclusive, not public on YouTube), go ahead and drop those down below.
Thank you once again!! I feel wholeheartedly appreciative and humble. My goal is to continue with my bloggings shenanigans for a long time to come, so don’t worry about me disappearing. I may slow it down a bit for life stuff, like I’ve done recently, but I’m not disappearing on you. I fucking love blogging too much to check-out, even when it does piss me off with its surprise writing ruts. Let’s see if we can make it to the next milestone!! Much love and gratitude to you all.
