Super Sunny Side Up: The Sunshine Blogger Award

Yay, for getting nominated for a blog award! This time I was nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award by the marvellous Yomu from Umai Yomu Anime Blog! Thank you so much for nominating me! I feel really honoured and grateful that you thought of me. For folks who may not be familiar with or following Yomu, I highly recommend that you go pay them a visit! Their blog is a wonderful place to be especially if you’re into anime.

I’m going to go ahead and jump right into this thing. First there shall be the rules, then the questions, and finally the tagging (if I tag people). If I nominate you down below, don’t feel obligated to partake. It’s totally optional!

The Rules:

🌞 Thank the person(s) who nominated you and provide a link to their blog so others can visit them!
🌞 Answer eleven questions asked by the nominator.
🌞Nominate eleven bloggers of your choosing and provide them with eleven questions of your making to answer.
🌞 Notify the nominees by commenting on one of their blogs.
🌞 List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post or on your blog site.

Yomu’s Questions:

01. What’s your favourite card game? (Playing cards or otherwise, although I need some good ideas for card games!)

I don’t really play card games, but of the ones I have played, I really enjoy Boss Monster and Fluxx. I also really like the Star Wars Trading Card Game.

02. How many anime have you watched in total?

I’ve seen approximately 345 anime serials and films, give or take.

03. What is your favourite anime genre and favourite anime from that genre?

My favourite anime genres are seinen and then shōnen and the two anime I love from those genres include Initial D and GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka respectively. I also love their manga counterparts, which is what introduced me to the anime to begin with.

04. What is your favourite anime OP/ED?

I don’t really have a favourite opening or ending of all-time, as I tend to go through musical phases and moods. But my number one favourite song featured in any anime in “Running in the 90s,” which plays during the first race in Initial D season one. It’s my ultimate feel-good song for ever and ever. I actually did a post featuring my favourite anime songs, which you can visit here.

05. Do you have any goals for your blog?

This is a tough question to answer as I’ve thought about many things that I want to do with my blog but haven’t settled on anything specific. However, there are three distinct things that came to mind immediately when I read the question. Firstly, I’d love BiblioNyan to be the go-to reliable authority or source for Japanese literature, especially for English translated works. This is something I’m going to university for and an industry that I hope to work in one day. My passion for Japanese literature supersedes all others. Secondly, I want to build a genuine and inviting platform that people can turn to for coping with mental health on a day-to-day basis that doesn’t bullshite or sugarcoat anything. Lastly, I would love to hit 5,000 followers one day. I feel like that would be the ultimate blogging accomplishment as it’s a number that I’ve never believed I could attain before.

06. Do you have any exciting/interesting plans for the second half of 2019?

I’m going to be going out of town (locally, unfortunately) in August before the new semester kicks up and it’s with my two closest friends. I’m looking forward to the good food and shopping. Plus, Sir Besty and I are planning on adopting a pet tortoise later on in the year. Also, I hope to submit my manuscript to a literary agent by the end of the year as well.

07. Do you like cooking? Is there anything in particular that you’re very good at making?

I love cooking! It’s something I do when I need to express myself creatively but none of my other outlets are working (writing and drawing). My favourite cuisines are Indian, Japanese, and Italian. I love trying to do fusion recipes the most. Some of my favourite things I’ve cooked are shown below. Scroll over them to see the dish’s name.

08. Favourite leftover food?

Ebi katsu curry don (fried shrimp and veggie curry bowl) from my favourite ramen house in town! It’s so delicious and just gets more flavourful after being in the fridge for a couple hours to one day.

09. What is your go-to “I deserve this” guilty pleasure?

I don’t believe in guilty pleasures, but I’m going to say beer. Due to health reasons I can’t drink often, so when I am able to, I love to get some Sapporo or Hoegaarden and kick-back. If beer is not allowed, then I indulge in green tea cheesecake.

10. What is something your country/province/state is known for?

My country of residence is currently known for having a racist Neo-Nazi president who loves to assault women (granted not everyone is like that, thankfully). My home country and country of birth (Fiji Islands) is known for getting the gold medal in 2016 in men’s rugby and for the beautiful beaches!!

11. Do you prefer doughnuts or cookies?

Oh, dude, this question is so damn hard! But chocolate chip biscuits, or cookies, all the way! I can eat more of them without being overwhelmed by the richness of it, haha.

I won’t be nominating anyone this time around, now that I’ve made it this far, simply because I recently completed this award and I’d end up nominating most of the same people again anyway. I would like to thank Yomu again, as well as everyone who continues to support this blog. Y’all are awesome and I’m ever-so-grateful to you!

Thank you so much for visiting me today! I appreciate your support. I wish you a lovely day ahead.

お立ち寄りいただきありがとうございました。よい一日をお過ごしください。

  1. So quick!
    Great answers too.
I watched GTO last year and it was a blast, an absolute classic. You’ve also exceeded my expectations with the inclusion of those mouth-watering images haha. I’ve never actually had rice porridge before.
And most importantly, good answer on the last question. I like to think that it says a lot about a person’s character, somehow.

    • I have family there, but they’re very distant relatives whom I’ve never met. My only family that I’m close to actually lives in Japan and then my parents who are around the corner from me lol.
