Happy Saturday, y’all! Today is my first day at the new job and, honestly, I’m a basket of nerves. When I get nervous and stressed out, I tend to do some stress-induced shopping. However, in an effort to keep myself from spending money that I definitely don’t have, I went to the library and “shopped” there instead. This place is such a lifesaver and I’m so thankful that there’s quite a few of them around my house; a privilege I don’t take for granted, that’s for sure.
As I’ve been in the mode for reading adult sci-fi and fantasy, that’s pretty much what my library loot consists of this time around. I’m glad to announce that a few of them are newish releases from within the last year or so. It has been a long time since I’ve read anything newer than 2005 from within this genre! Colour me excited as hell.
To keep things simple and short, I’ve included the covers for everything that I hauled from the libs with a full list at the bottom for accessibility’s sake. As it stands, I definitely plan on reviewing all of them as I get to them. The only exception to this is if I end up DNF’ing (not finishing) a book for any reason. Then I’ll just briefly touch upon it in my monthly reading wrap-up gigs.
We Ride the Storm by Devin Madson
The Ranger of Marzanna by Jon Skovron
The Bard’s Blade by Brian D. Anderson
Velocity Weapon by Megan E. O’Keefe
Hella by David Gerrold
The Alpha Enigma by W. Michael Gear
By Force Alone by Lavie Tidhar
Vengewar by Kevin J. Anderson
Quantum Shadows by L.E. Modessit
The Bone Shard Daughter by Andrea Stewart
The Kingdom of Liars by Nick Martell
Soleri by Michael Johnston
Waste Tide by Qiufan Chen
Supernova by Cixin Liu
Dreams and Shadows by Robert C. Cargill
Thief’s Magic by Trudi Canavan
As you can see I’ll definitely be busy for the next few weeks! I’m really looking forward to diving into all of these as they’re all unique in their own ways and I strongly believe that shall help to keep me from getting bored with these genres.
Have you read any of the books shown here? Are any of them on your TBRs? What’s an SFF book that you thoroughly enjoyed recently?
