27 Adult Sci-Fi & Fantasy Books of 2021 with Gloriously Crafted Covers

I really love the covers for almost all the science-fiction and fantasy books that I consume. They usually tread on a spectrum of varying artistic masterpieces from badass to quaint to minimalist to cheesy as an ooey gooey pizza with extra sauce, and everything in between. Some of them can even be godawfully disgusting or horrific, which has it’s own special brand of appeal that I adore. Whatever the story, the covers have a tendency to snap a human’s attention quickly. I know we aren’t supposed to judge books by their covers, but most of the SFF books that I consume are because the fronts really speak (or scream) to me and I cannot resist ‘em.

This wondrously enigmatic and slightly intimidating year of 2021 has incredible books hitting those digital and physical shelves over the next few or so months, and today, I wanted to briefly highlight some of my favourite cover arts (thus far, as they are subject to change, which blows whale snot) for these releases. A lot of them are sequels or additions in pre-existing serials (all of which are on my TBR, if I haven’t gotten to ‘em yet), which I think is neat because it helps to draw more attention to said serials.

Anyhoo, let’s take a gander at these beauts! If you see something that catches your interest, I have the titles listed at the end along with links to respective info pages. ✌🏾

  1. So many of these look phenomenal from their covers. I feel like you handed me a must-have grocery list but for books lol.

  2. It’s really hard not to judge a book by its cover sometimes, or do cover buys.
All these are gorgeous, but I’m really digging the Dowry of Blood one. I like the white veil on it, which looks like a smear.
