March’s Sci-Fi & Fantasy Cinema Boxed Set Haul

One of the things that I love to do to help myself unwind and relax, especially during times of high-stress, is to re-watch my favourite TV shows and films that I can just get lost in. If they’re from my childhood and can fill me with a great sense of delightful nostalgia, then I’m even more likely to indulge in them on a regular basis (e.g. Stargate SG-1 & Atlantis). This is the main reason why my watchlist for unseen cinema and anime seems to be never-ending. But I don’t really mind too much as I’m partaking in things that give me joy and recently I’ve come to learn just how valuable and important that can be for my mental well-being.

After receiving the stimulus cheque, I put about 90% of it towards my bills and debt to help me get through the next couple months. With the small bit I had remaining, I decided to go ahead and purchase some of my favourite TV serials while I could. I don’t typically have fun money to toss around for kicks, and I’m not sure when I’ll be able to have the small chunk of change that I did. I’m sure there are people who would admonish me for spending money on materialistic stuff, but I see it as an investment in my mental health and well-being, so I don’t regret it a single bit!

My Self-Care Cinema Loot, as it’s been randomly deemed thanks to my nephews, consists of four TV boxed sets that I’ve been eyeing for the better part of three years and one film trilogy that I hadn’t realised had hit shelves in a single set. Most of these are mementos from my childhood and because of that they are so supremely cheesy, which, honestly speaking, is what makes them so bloody brilliant in terms of enjoyment (at least for me).

Anyhoo, check out my loot below! I’ve got photos of everything with a bulleted list following it for accessibility’s sake (which may be slightly out or order to the photos, sorry).
