I remember this anime with a deep sense of fondness as it always reminds to never truly judge a series by its first couple of episodes. What began as something with mediocre expectations ended up becoming one of my favourite feel-good supernatural serials of the season. Snow White with the Red Hair (赤髪の白雪姫) is a 2015 shōjo, romance, slice-of-life anime series that was produced by Studio Bones and directed by Masahiro Andō with two seasons and twenty-four total episodes. It became a marvellously surprising gem for me when I watched both seasons back in December. I desperately needed a happy distraction, something to make me feel an air of optimism as we shifted into the new year and this anime fulfilled all of that and more. Today, I want to share five reasons why y’all should watch this show if you haven’t picked it up yet.
Wolf’s Rain follows a group of four ragtag wolves that end up coming together due to various circumstances and embarking on a very long and arduous journey in the search for a place called Paradise, which is foretold to appear when the world approaches its end. In the anime, wolves have been hunted practically to extinction and are nothing more than a grand legend. In order to protect themselves from the many different perceptions that people have about them, the four wolves disguise themselves as humans in order to survive their lengthy adventure.
