All of the books that I had intended to read a couple weeks ago ended up falling through because I simply didn’t have the attention span or time to devote to them. While I’m saddened by it, I’m also glad that I realised I had to put reading aside to just let Life do its thing, otherwise I may have fallen into an atrocious reading rut (my second biggest nemesis after spiders). Since things have been super hefty with respect to my emotional and mental well-being, I turned to chill, cosy books to help me unwind
My reading inclinations have been all over the place recently and as such, I’ve got a nice bit of variety to the things that I shall be diving into over the next couple of days and then possibly going into the upcoming week ahead, which includes a bit of horror, thriller, and non-fiction, along with a decent sized pile of Batman comics.
Recently, I finished reading a book on female serial killers called Lady Killers: Deadly Women Throughout History by Tori Telfer and it has me craving true crime narratives like a catnip addict. In addition to my nonfiction treats, I also have a science-fiction book or two to help break the tension and heaviness of the dreary and decrepit. One of these sci-fi titles is marketed as a Fungalpunk trilogy
I really hope to be able to spend the next two days lazing around in bed because my body and my mind really need to catch up on recuperation. Aside from napping with feline folx, the activities will be limited to things that won’t require me to physically leave said bed if possible, meaning animu watching and reading, yay!
This weekend, I’m continuing my comfort reading of one of my favourite dark fantasy, sword and sorcery serials of all-time and I’m also hoping to dive into a genre that I’ve been craving for the better part of two weeks, sci-fi horror! Additionally, I’ve got a decent stack of comics to entertain me if my ADHD with novels gets to be a bit much, of which I shared my most-anticipated pick.
Good afternoon, Chums. I know it’s been quite a while since my last post (at least it sure as hell feels that way), and the truth is that I’ve had a lot going on, which I plan on discussing briefly later in the post. I’m going to break this write-up down into a couple of small sections. The first shall consist of my current reads and planned reads for the upcoming week, and the second shall be info about Azizi kitty.
Reading-wise, I’m going to focus on fluffy romance manga because it has been a salve for my stressed out body, mind, and spirit. One of them I know for sure that I shall invest in acquiring the physical volumes in the near future because it’s legitimately one of my top ten favourite romance serials ever. The rest are mostly sci-fi horror novels with one fantasy novel that I’ve been working on since mid-February.
I finished most of my books from last weekend, which means I get to start up a whole new mini-mountain for the upcoming week. Two of them are owned-books I’ve had on my shelves for the better part of a year to two years, while the other is a library book I snagged a couple of weeks ago.
The weekend plans shall revolve around reading books, playing video game demos for a couple of my most-anticipated releases for 2021, and then scheduling up blog posts for the upcoming week. I shall be reading the latest instalment in an adult portal fantasy series I’ve been thoroughly enjoying over the last few years, some sword and sorcery comics, and a Japanese nonfiction novel.
The plan as it stands is to read a couple books, marathon the Star Wars films in machete order with Madame Gabs, and try to play Donkey Kong Country 3 with full completion (I’ve never been able to do this, but Gabs has, so she’s going to help me, woot). The books I shall be reading consist of a cosy mystery and the second instalment in a medical sci-fi series I began at the start of January.
The new university semester starts in a week or so, where I shall be returning in the pursuit of a pharmacist degree (I’m so ecstatic, y’all). Since I will have very little to no free time then, I want to spend the next couple days revamping my office/study and the burrowing into blankets with comforting reads, TV serials, and my kitters. During this period, I’ll definitely be ignoring the world because I need a mental and emotional break
Y’all may remember these segments as “Weekend Reads,” but I decided to change ‘em up a tiny bit. I originally created “Caturday Reads” over on The Djinn Reader, and I loved the concept so much that I decided to go ahead and import it over to BiblioNyan as well! What better way to kick off the weekend then with a stack of books and a squishy kitty face?
I’m very happy that the weekend has arrived! The past couple of weeks have been difficult for me in terms of emotional and mental health, so my entire focus for the next two to three days will consist of self-care, a big part of which revolves around reading! Continuing on my library conquering journey, I…
Good morning and happy Saturday! My goal this weekend is to finish up some books that I have been reading throughout the week. Most of the books I’m going to be sharing today I had begun reading more than a week ago even, but then I became distracted from them by either other books, anime,…
Yay! Saturday is finally here! This means I get to return some library books and then spend the day playing video games with Sir Betrothed; hell, we may even take a nap because that’s what Saturdays are for. You know what else Saturdays are for? Lazy book reading in bed while in my cosiest pyjamas,…
