Self-Care Sunday #23: Defeating End-of-Decade Depression & Blues

As I sat down at my computer this morning, with a steaming cup of coffee and a couple of granola bars, trying to determine if I felt well enough to attend Dharma service, I realised that in approximately one and a half months 2019 shall be coming to an end, and with it an entire…

Self-Care Sunday #22: My Favourite Motivational Reads for Autumn

Autumn is such a beautiful time of year. It’s one of my two favourite seasons of the year, and I’m quite positive that my birthday being in the middle of it has nothing to do with that, of course. Yet, even with how much of an aesthetic it is, even with all of the cosy…

Self-Care Sunday #21: Recognising Failures as Life Experiences

How many times in your life have you failed to accomplish a goal that you’ve set for yourself? Whether it was for educational, professional, or personal reasons? How often have those failures left you utterly demoralised and wanting to give up, thinking that perhaps what you set out to do may be out of your…

Self-Care Sunday #20: 5 Ways to Cope with Anxiety at Home

Good afternoon, friends. Before I jump into this week’s Self-Care subject, I wanted to take a moment and apologise for not having written a segment of this series since July. Truth be told, life has been rather unpredictable this year, and most of it had left me feeling quite a bit uninspired. As I struggled…

Self-Care Sunday #19: Developing Willpower & Fortitude via Brutally Honest Pep-Talks

G’morning Chums. Welcome to my first self-care post for the month of July. I had intended to get back on track with this segment when July started, but recently I chatted about all of the things that have been affecting my mental health, to the point where finding the inspiration to do them has been…

Self-Care Sunday #18: How Self-Affirmations Can Help Fight Systemised Negativity

Happy Sunday morning, Chums. I feel like it has been ages since my last Self-Care Sunday post, which went up in mid-May. I suppose in that sense, it has been a damned long time, hasn’t it? One of the biggest things for me to remember is that life happens and occasionally it will prevent me…

Self-Care Sunday #17: Coping with Blogging Slumps Pt. 1 – Stress & Burnouts

Have you ever been on a phenomenal blogging kick before? One where you’re posting comfortably and consistently at whatever speed works for you and it leaves you feeling fantastically accomplished and productive? Then one day, seemingly out of the blue, when you sit down to concoct the next best piece, you discover that your brain…

I’m so happy finals are over!! Finished my semester with a 100% in all my classes. Next semester I’m changing schools & going into a super intensive / ambitious major, which I’m beyond ecstatic for. Meanwhile, for the next four weeks, I shall be reading a ton of Asian literature, watching lots of anime & Indian films, & napping like a mo’fo! Wishing you a kind & lovely week ahead. Best of luck to those who still have finals & things left. You can do it!! ✊🏽✊🏽 . . . . #books #librarybooks #diversebooks #ownvoices #asianliterature #shelfie #bookworm #bookjunkie #bookish #bibliophile #booklife #japaneseliterature #fortheloveofbooks #holidays #holidayvacation #unilife📚
Y’all ever feel torn between reading your owned books and the mountainous pile of library books you’ve been hoarding for months? Because that’s my daily mood. 😅 To make things worse, I’ve 6 holds ready to pick up and 3 more in transit. I think I need an intervention. 🙈 How do you balance reading between owned and libs books? I could definitely use some advice. 😂 Hope y’all have a gentle weekend ahead. Much love. 💜 . . . . . #bookstagram #diversebooks #weneeddiversebooks #muslimshelfspace #ownvoices #bookphoto #bookphotography #booksofig #booknerd #bookgeek #bookjunkie #bookaddict #bookaholic #bibliophile #bibliophilelife #bookish #beautifulbooks #readaholic #readinglife #bookblogger #bookworm #booksofinstagram #booksaremylife
I’m sorry I’ve been nonexistent around here. I’ve been struggling a lot with my physical health the last couple of weeks. I’m finally meeting with some specialists soon and hoping they can help me feel like a normal-ish hooman again soon. Although, I have read over 20 books this month, so all this bedrest has been good for something lol. I hope you’re all doing fabulous. Here’s to a chill weekend ahead. 💜 . . . . #bookstagram #bookofthemonth #botm #bookphotography #booksofig #beautifulbooks #bookworm #bibliophile #booknerd #bookgeek #bookjunkie #booktography #bookish #bookishlife #diversebooks #bibliophilelife #igbooks #bookblogger
I love it when authors have a kind of colour scheme going for their books. It’s just aesthetically pleasing and also helps set their stuff apart for me. Joe Abercrombie is an adult fantasy author I discovered this year and, Holy Hell, his stuff is brilliant. 😍 Rec’d if you’re into Grimdark narratives. . . . . #bookstagram #fantasybooks #bookphoto #bookphotography #bookrecommendations #books #bibliophile #bookworm #bookdragon #favouriteauthor #bookaesthetic #beautifulbooks #bookish #bookishlife #booknerd #bookaddict #bookobsessed #booksofinstagram
It’s that fantastic time of year again: Dewey’s 24-Hour Readathon!! I’ll be starting at 5am over in my corner of the world. This is the first time I’m participating in over a year!! I’m super excited. I shall be a delinquent and postpone my homework shenanigans until after the readathon. #NoRegrets lol. These three books are my TBR picks. I don’t expect to finish them all, but I would like to pick away at each one bit by bit. 🖤 Are you partaking in this readathon this year? . . . #deweys24hourreadathon #readathon #readathon19 #bookstagram #bookphotography #booktography #yafiction #scifibooks #thrillerbooks #mysterybooks #toberead #tbrpile #bookworm #bookobsessed #bibliophile #bibliophilelife #bookish #readaholic #igreads #booksofinstagram #bookblogger #bookcovers #bookaesthetic
The sun was bright today, so I decided to try taking photos! It’s been a long time since I’ve take book pics, but I like how they turned out, even if they are suuuper vibrant lol. 🖤 I’ve been enjoying this book quite a bit. It’s definitely better than the second novel, however I wish there was more emphasis on the forensics. Also, while I’m loving Mephistopheles, I don’t care for the love triangle tease. Just feels unnecessary. Nonetheless, I’m excited for the culprit reveal and the lead into the final instalment. Hoping to finish it today, so I can partake in Dewey’s this weekend with fresh reads. . . . . #bookstagram #currentlyreading #currentreads #amreading #bookphotography #yahistoricalfiction #yafiction #escapingfromhoudini #stalkingjacktheripper #bookphoto #bookaddict #bookworm #bibliophile #bookgeek #booknerd #bookjunkie #bookaholic #readaholic #reading #igreads #bookishlife #booksofinstagram
