Of course, lengthy, draining weeks demand self-care on the weekends! Since this shall be my last couple days of freedom before a new work project begins and monopolises my time and brain juice, I want to spend it all in Potato Mode. Spooky books and spooky films and spooky Shinobi stalking my kitchen in the middle of the night, convincing me that I’m about to be murdered by some creepy arse clown from outer space
Good day, Foul Beings of BiblioNyan. Welcome to my hooman’s long-vacant blog space. They have had much more vital things to tend to these last few months, such as my grooming and pampering and special kibble preparations, as well as reading to me while I slumber to ensure lovely dreams of mice murder mayhem, and of course the constant dedication to doting of my utmost beauty. I typically do not require any introductions for I am the Supreme Being of All, however, I shall make an acceptance of your
I don’t have a lot of homework this weekend, so I’m hoping to curl up on the couch in the cat room, where I’m going to pick through a couple of books and watch some Indian films. I still have a few that I’m reading from my previous weekend post
Reading-wise, I’m turning to owned books from my personal library. One is a re-read of a favourite cyberpunk novel, which I have previously reviewed here on BiblioNyan. The other two are books I’ve owned for about six months to a year, and they felt like they’d be a good fit to pick at in-between classes and homework to-dos.
My reading inclinations have been all over the place recently and as such, I’ve got a nice bit of variety to the things that I shall be diving into over the next couple of days and then possibly going into the upcoming week ahead, which includes a bit of horror, thriller, and non-fiction, along with a decent sized pile of Batman comics.
I really hope to be able to spend the next two days lazing around in bed because my body and my mind really need to catch up on recuperation. Aside from napping with feline folx, the activities will be limited to things that won’t require me to physically leave said bed if possible, meaning animu watching and reading, yay!
This weekend, I’m continuing my comfort reading of one of my favourite dark fantasy, sword and sorcery serials of all-time and I’m also hoping to dive into a genre that I’ve been craving for the better part of two weeks, sci-fi horror! Additionally, I’ve got a decent stack of comics to entertain me if my ADHD with novels gets to be a bit much, of which I shared my most-anticipated pick.
Good afternoon, Chums. I know it’s been quite a while since my last post (at least it sure as hell feels that way), and the truth is that I’ve had a lot going on, which I plan on discussing briefly later in the post. I’m going to break this write-up down into a couple of small sections. The first shall consist of my current reads and planned reads for the upcoming week, and the second shall be info about Azizi kitty.
There are two books on my weekend reading itinerary. One of them is a Japanese steampunk novel that has been on my TBR for over a year. My local library had a copy, so I snagged it the last time that I was here. The second book is the first novel in one of my favourite sword and sorcery trilogies of all-time, a trilogy that I love to read and re-read, especially when I’m having a difficult time dealing with real-life challenges
Reading-wise, I’m going to focus on fluffy romance manga because it has been a salve for my stressed out body, mind, and spirit. One of them I know for sure that I shall invest in acquiring the physical volumes in the near future because it’s legitimately one of my top ten favourite romance serials ever. The rest are mostly sci-fi horror novels with one fantasy novel that I’ve been working on since mid-February.
The weekend plans shall revolve around reading books, playing video game demos for a couple of my most-anticipated releases for 2021, and then scheduling up blog posts for the upcoming week. I shall be reading the latest instalment in an adult portal fantasy series I’ve been thoroughly enjoying over the last few years, some sword and sorcery comics, and a Japanese nonfiction novel.
The plan as it stands is to read a couple books, marathon the Star Wars films in machete order with Madame Gabs, and try to play Donkey Kong Country 3 with full completion (I’ve never been able to do this, but Gabs has, so she’s going to help me, woot). The books I shall be reading consist of a cosy mystery and the second instalment in a medical sci-fi series I began at the start of January.
The new university semester starts in a week or so, where I shall be returning in the pursuit of a pharmacist degree (I’m so ecstatic, y’all). Since I will have very little to no free time then, I want to spend the next couple days revamping my office/study and the burrowing into blankets with comforting reads, TV serials, and my kitters. During this period, I’ll definitely be ignoring the world because I need a mental and emotional break
Y’all may remember these segments as “Weekend Reads,” but I decided to change ‘em up a tiny bit. I originally created “Caturday Reads” over on The Djinn Reader, and I loved the concept so much that I decided to go ahead and import it over to BiblioNyan as well! What better way to kick off the weekend then with a stack of books and a squishy kitty face?
My exciting plan for this Hallow’s Eve is to curl up into bed and red my small stack of fantastic horror books, whilst eating ice-cream and binging some supernatural shows.
